Thiruvananthapuram: During his speech at Republic Day celebrations at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar expressed his deep pride in Kerala, commending its remarkable progress. He highlighted Kerala’s high literacy rate and its significant strides in various sectors, emphasizing that these achievements reflect the collective efforts of the people, irrespective of political affiliations.

The Governor also lauded Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for his clear vision of a developed Kerala. He stressed the importance of unity, stating that despite political differences, both the ruling party and the opposition must work together for the state’s continued development. “Our state has progressed in numerous fields. Only through collaboration between the ruling party and opposition can we make Kerala great and contribute to a developed India,” he remarked.

Arlekar was quick to point out that Kerala’s success is not the result of any one individual or party, but the outcome of the concerted efforts of its people. “I am proud of Kerala, but I have no part in its achievements. These are the result of the efforts of the people, the ruling party, and the opposition. This is why Kerala continues to move forward,” he said. He also noted that Kerala is ahead of the country in many key indicators, underscoring the state’s unique position in India.

Drawing a powerful analogy, the Governor compared the people of Kerala to lions, saying, “The lion is the king of the jungle, and with every step forward, it looks back to understand how far it has come. The people of Kerala are like lions – strong, proud, and always looking ahead.”

Looking toward the future, highlighting the country’s progress toward becoming a developed nation. He emphasized that a developed India cannot move forward without a developed Kerala, praising CM Pinarayi Vijayan for his visionary leadership in shaping the state’s future.
