
Kannur: Miscreants pelted stones at the glass windows of a Vande Bharat Express while passing through Kannur on Wednesday evening.
The incident is one of the many recent episodes of stone pelting incidents reported in the Northern district recently. The recent incident happened while the train was passing between Thalassery and Mahe.
The glass window of the C-8 coach was damaged due to the stone pelting. Following this, Railway Protection Force (RPF) inspected the coach and launched a probe.
Stone pelting at trains has been recorded in various parts of Kannur in recent days. On August 14, stones were hurled at the Duronto Express as it travelled between Pappinisseri and Valapattanam.
Last Sunday, the windows of the AC coach of the Thiruvananthapuram Central-Mumbai LTT Netravathi Express were shattered by stone pelting while moving between Kannur and Valapattanam. On the same day, stones were hurled at the Chennai Super Fast and the Okha-Ernakulam Express.
