Kozhikode: A woman tourist from Germany was bitten by a stray dog at a railway station in Kerala.

Astrid (60), part of a 14-member group of German tourists, was bitten on her right leg. The incident occurred at around 3.30 pm on Sunday on Platform 3 of Kozhikode railway station.

The group was travelling from Kozhikode to Kochi on the Vande Bharat Express. While on the platform, Astrid accidentally stepped on the dog, leading to the attack. The incident took place near the Railway Protection Force (RPF) office. Although RPF authorities offered to arrange medical assistance at a hospital, the group decided to continue their journey on the Vande Bharat train, planning to seek treatment later.

The group, after visiting northern India, had arrived in Kozhikode and was heading to Kochi for further travel.

Following the dog bite, they disembarked at Thrissur Railway Station and sought treatment at the Medical College Hospital.
