Kovalam: A German citizen was found dead in a rented house in Azhakulam, Kovalam. George Carl, 48, was found unconscious in the living room of the residence of Martin and Susan, another German couple who are currently in Sri Lanka for their visa renewal.
Carl had arrived last Wednesday to visit the couple. The owners had informed the house owner by phone that Carl would be staying there. When Carl did not appear outside until Friday evening, there was concern, and he was found unresponsive in bed.

The Kovalam police arrived at the scene with a doctor from a nearby private hospital. The doctor pronounced Carl dead. According to SHO V. Jayaprakash, the body has been moved to the mortuary at Medical College Hospital for further examination. The post-mortem will be conducted once the German couple returns from Sri Lanka.
