
Vizhinjam: Four individuals have been arrested by Vizhinjam Police for attempting to manufacture country bombs near the security zone of the international port area in Mullur. The suspects have been identified as 19-year-old Sharath from Nettathanni, 25-year-old Aneesh from Mullur Thottam, 22-year-old Ajith from Koliyoor, and 20-year-old Dhanush from Vizhinjam Kalvettankuzhy.
According to the police, a search of the suspects' belongings uncovered materials for making country bombs, two finished bombs, a machete, and 30 grams of cannabis. Following the arrest, the Fort Assistant Commissioner ordered a detailed inspection, with Bomb Detection and Dog Squads arriving at the scene for further investigation.

The suspects were reportedly frequenting a house near a temple in the Thottam area, where they were said to travel late at night toward the port project site. The homeowner, Abhiraj, had previously warned them to stay away from the area. Tensions escalated when the group clashed with Abhiraj, leading to verbal arguments and physical altercations. It is believed that the dispute sparked the group's attempt to create bombs near the security zone.
The group was spotted by local security officials, raising suspicion. When the authorities were alerted, the suspects fled towards the coastline. A police team, led by SHO R. Prakash, SI M. Prashanth, Dinakaran, Satish, and SCPOs Sabu, Suresh, and Ranjith, pursued them and successfully apprehended the group. One of the suspects managed to escape but was later captured in Kalliyoor during the night.
The arrested individuals were presented in court and remanded into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
