Malappuram: The suspension of former Malappuram Superintendent of Police (SP) Sujith Das has been revoked. The decision was taken after the suspension period reached six months. Recently, Sujith Das had reported at the police headquarters. However, despite the suspension withdrawn, Sujith Das has not yet been assigned a new posting.
Sujith Das was suspended following revelations made by PV Anvar. Anvar had released an audio recording of Sujith Das, along with allegations that he had links with gold smuggling gangs alongside MR Ajith Kumar. A controversy arose when an audio clip surfaced, in which Sujith Das allegedly asked Anvar over the phone to withdraw a case related to illegal tree felling on the camp office premises while he was serving as Malappuram SP.
Investigations against Sujith Das are still ongoing. According to reports, the revocation of his suspension will not interfere with the ongoing inquiries.
