Thiruvananthapuram: The death of a seven-year-old boy in Kattakada is suspected to be due to food poisoning. The boy, Adityanath, is son of Girish and Neetu, residents of Myladi.
On August 17, Adityanath and his family had a meal at a hotel in Vilappilsala while travelling. Shortly after, he began feeling unwell. Initially, he was taken to a local hospital near his home, where his condition did not improve. Later, he was transferred to Sree Uthradom Thirunal (SUT) Hospital. Despite efforts of the medical team, Adityanath passed away at around 10 p.m. on Sunday night.

The family said that the child's symptoms, which included abdominal pain and vomiting, began after consuming food from the hotel. The exact cause of death will be determined only after post-mortem examination, which will confirm whether food poisoning had taken place.
