Kannur: The passengers of Kerala’s Vande Bharat will be provided meals at a cost of Rs 65 for a minimum journey. For a full-time passenger, food worth Rs 350 will be provided inside the train. However, the food prices are varied in terms of chair car and executive cars even if the journey is of the same duration.

In case of minimum distance travel in AC chair cars, food will be provided for a cost of Rs 65. Whereas in the executive chair, the price will be Rs 105. The rates are similar for both vegetarian and non - vegetarian food.

For full-time passengers travelling from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram, IRCTC will provide food for Rs 290 in chair cars and Rs 350 in executive cars. As there is no pantry car in Vande Bharat Express, food and water will be brought to base stations and stored in separate containers.

While booking tickets, passengers can choose whether they want vegetarian or non vegetarian food. One can book tickets without opting for food as well. All passengers will be given water and a newspaper. Also, loco pilots will have to pay for their food.

Although a menu has not been released yet, it is likely to be similar to the Vande Bharat train that operates in Chennai.

Menu in the Chennai - Mysore Vande Bharat Express:

5.50 am - Tea/Coffee, Biscuits

Breakfast - Idli, Vada (veg) and Bread Omelet, Cutlet (non veg)

Evening - Tea/Coffee, Biscuits

Night - Snacks
