Tirur: An event called "Sadaram MT Ulsavam" has been scheduled to celebrate the 90th birthday (navathi) of writer MT Vasudevan Nair from May 16 to 20 at Thunchan parambu in Tirur.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the programme which will be presided over by Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs Saji Cheriyan. Actor Mammooty will be the chief guest of the event. 

The seminars presented during the five-day event will explore various phases of MT Vasudevan Nair's life and the characteristics of his novels. Along with these seminars, the event will also feature the screening of MT's movies, musical concerts, dance performances, and staging of plays, said P Nandakumar MLA, the trust secretary.
