Alappuzha: A female Youth Congress leader from Alappuzha has lodged a complaint with the district police chief stating that an obscene video, purported to be of her, is being circulated. The video was sent to the female leader’s WhatsApp number from a foreign phone number. 

The video was later sent to her friends’ phones and was widely circulated on social media as well. Though she lodged a complaint with the Vallikunnam police, no action was taken. Following this, the woman filed a complaint with the Alappuzha district police chief.

The number which was used to send the fake video has been traced and belongs to a Vallikunnam native living abroad. It is also reported that the video was sent to the woman’s friends from this person’s wife’s phone number. The police are investigating whether there is any kind of personal enmity behind the incident.
