Peravur: A farmer from Peravoor in Kannur was found dead at his home in Kannur after he received a bank notice. M.R. Albert, 68, committed suicide after the farmer received a notice from the bank last week. His wife who returned home after her morning prayers found Albert dead.
Albert had received a notice from the Kerala Bank's Peravoor branch last week. The final day to repay the loan was on Tuesday and he had attempted to get money from Kudumbashree on Sunday but in vain.
Albert known by his nickname MR, was a familiar figure in the locality and an active Congress activist too.
He is survived by wife Vatsala and children Asha, Ambili and sister Anitha. The body is kept at the Peravoor taluk hospital.
