Kalanjoor/Pathanamthitta: The death of Megha Madhusudhanan, an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer, has raised several questions, prompting her family to demand a thorough investigation. Megha, who was working at the Thiruvananthapuram airport, was hit by a train on Monday morning near the Pettah railway overbridge in Thiruvananthapuram. A formal complaint has been filed with the Kerala Police and the Intelligence Bureau, seeking clarity on the circumstances surrounding her death.
Megha, who had completed her night duty at the Thiruvananthapuram airport, was found dead on the railway tracks near the Pettah railway overbridge in Thiruvananthapuram. Her father, Madhusudhanan, revealed that Megha had called him at 6 am on Monday after finishing her shift. According to his account, Megha had mentioned that she was heading to her room after purchasing a food parcel. However, later that morning, they got to know that she had been struck by a train and died at the scene.
Madhusudhanan stressed that no known work-related issues were troubling Megha, raising concerns about her sudden presence near the railway tracks, especially since there were no railway lines near her residence. “The circumstances of her being near the Pettah railway track should be investigated. It was said that she was talking on her mobile phone on the track,” said Madhusudhanan. He further requested authorities to investigate who Megha had been speaking to during the call.
In response to the family's concerns, Megha’s relatives have been informed by the Intelligence Bureau that a special investigation would be conducted to look into the incident.
Family members shared that during a forensic science training in Punjab, Megha got close to a young man from Malappuram. Initially, her family had opposed the relationship, but they eventually accepted it. Later, the man withdrew; relatives speculated that the young man’s decision to withdraw from the relationship could have played a role in her death. The phone Megha had been using, which could have provided crucial evidence, was damaged in the accident.
Left too soon, leaving civil service dream behind:
Megha had left behind a promising future, having joined the IB section at Thiruvananthapuram airport at a young age of 24 after excelling in Forensic Science. She had been planning to take a leave from her job to pursue her dream of joining the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
Megha is the only daughter of Madhusudhanan, a retired teacher from Koodal Karakkakuzhi Poozhikkad, and Nisha Chandran, an employee at the Palakkad Collectorate. Her family continues to seek justice and answers regarding the mysterious death of their beloved daughter.
