The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rains in Kerala for the next five days. A low pressure area has developed in the regions from southern Gujarat coast to Kerala coast. As a result, isolated, very heavy rains are likely across the state for the next five days till July 1. ICC World Cup from Oct 5

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan will square off at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 this October at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The opening game of the World Cup is scheduled to take place at the same venue on October 5 with a match between defending champions England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad, the ICC announced on Tuesday. Cabinet approved creation of 6,043 additional posts in government and government-aided private schools across the state, effective from October 1, 2022. Madani hospitalised in Kerala 

People's Democratic Party (PDP) chairman Abdul Nasar Madani, who arrived in Kerala on June 26, has fallen ill following which he was admitted to a hospital here, party sources said. While on the way to his village in Kollam district, in an ambulance, Madani complained of uneasiness and was admitted to a private hospital in the city. Read more

KAS officers to assume roles on July 1

VD Satheesan demands probe

Opposition leader V D Satheesan has demanded a detailed enquiry into the allegations levelled against CM Pinarayi Vijayan by Bangalore-based senior journalist Sandhya Ravishankar. Sandhya had earlier claimed that Pinarayi had amassed over 1,500 acres of land in Tamil Nadu and Kerala using his ties with realty giants and money launderers.
