Kakkanad: Jafar Malik, the District Collector of Ernakulam, arrived at GLPS Thrikkakara on Wednesday noon to inspect the quality of the food served to children there. The collector went to Class 4 and interacted with the students.
The students were a bit confused after seeing a man other than their teachers walk into the classroom. A few even argued that he was a celebrity. The naughty gestures of the kids put a smile on the collector’s face. He also sat amongst the students and ate the meals served at the school with them.
The meals included side dishes prepared using eggs, potatoes, and beans. The Collector also addressed the gathering at Roshni camp organised for the children of migrant labourers. He also complimented the food that was served.
He was accompanied by Deputy Director of Education, Ernakulam, Honey G Alexander. The Deputy Director of Education reported that the mid-day meal distribution is satisfactory in the district.
