Palakkad: As against his observation on Palakkad byelection LDF candidate P Sarin in his purported autobiography, CPM senior leader E P Jayarajan praised Sarin as an outstanding young man who even resigned from his job for public service.

Speaking to the media in Palakkad, Jayarajan, former LDF convener, said that Sarin is the best candidate for the people of Palakkad, and his candidacy is a great fortune for the people of the region.

Jayarajan noted that Sarin did not initially join Left-wing politics, but had the mindset of the Left. Sarin stood with farmers and workers, prioritising their needs over financial gain, which is rare in politics. He realised that honesty and justice were not to be found in Congress. The Congress had allied with communal forces, and its leaders were working for personal interests.

It was due to disagreements with these tendencies that Sarin joined the Communist Party. He has made it his mission to uplift the region and the people through political work, not for positions or personal gain.

Jayarajan emphasised that Sarin would be able to understand and alleviate the pain of the people by directly witnessing their struggles. He added that Sarin’s victory is what the people of Palakkad need, and it is what the youth and women in the region desire.

Sarin is a good independent candidate who will never be a liability, said Jayarajan.

When asked whether Sarin would turn out to be like Anvar, Jayarajan responded that every individual has their own personality and no one can be replaced by another. Each person has their unique traits.

Regarding his autobiography, Jayarajan clarified that it is currently being written and has not been completed. He reiterated that has not assigned the publication rights to anyone. Both DC Books and Mathrubhumi had approached him, but no contracts have been signed. He is writing the autobiography independently and has not entrusted anyone with its publication, except for someone to assist with language refinement, Jayarajan added.

Jayarajan also stated that he holds the sole authority to publish the book and has not given anyone else responsibility.

“The cover page of the book was only seen yesterday, and the book will be released soon. Further details will be clear then,” he added.

On the issue over his autobiography, Jayarajan has filed a complaint with the DGP. He clarified that none of the reports in the media, including those in the Times of India, are his writings.

Jayarajan said he does not see the matter as trivial, and believes that the incident on election day was pre-planned.

Both Palakkad and Chelakkara are witnessing progress by the Left Front, and the political situation is evolving, which prompted the efforts to undermine it. The news related to the previous meeting with Javadekar, which came out during the election period, was also pre-planned, he further said.

Jayarajan confirmed that he has no contract with DC Books. He has not even had a chance to correct any errors in the work he has written so far. He expressed surprise over how this situation has unfolded. The media were the ones who brought this to his attention. He has contacted DC Books to inquire how this happened, but they did not provide a clear response, Jayarajan said. He added that he had also enquired with the person who he had sought assistance with editing and correction.
