Thiruvananthapuram: The family of Rinson Jose, a Malayalee who has been linked to the recent Lebanon pager blasts, has spoken out in his defense, stating that they trust his character and believe he is not involved in any wrongdoing.

Family loses contact with Jose
“We speak daily over the phone. However, for the last three days, we have had no contact with Jose. He is a straightforward person, and we trust him fully. He will not be part of any wrongdoing. He may have been trapped in these blasts,” said Thankachen, a relative of Jose.

The blasts in Lebanon, which involved explosive pagers, have killed several people and left many injured. Media reports have connected Rinson Jose to the incident, alleging that he supplied the explosives.

Jose’s background and business ties
Rinson Jose, a 39-year-old originally from Wayanad, Kerala, holds a Norwegian passport and is settled with his wife in Oslo, Norway. He is the owner of Norta Global, a company registered in Bulgaria, which has allegedly been linked to the supply of pager explosives in Lebanon.

No contact with Jose’s wife
Thankachen mentioned that the family has also been unable to contact Jose’s wife for several days. “We have not heard from her either,” he added, expressing concern.

Educational background and work
Jose moved to Norway a few years ago for higher studies. He later worked briefly in London before returning to settle in Oslo. Besides managing his own company, he also holds a job in Oslo. Jose has a twin brother who is currently living in London.

Neighbour speaks in support
A neighbour from Wayanad, who has known Jose for a long time, also vouched for his character. “He has always been a nice person,” said the neighbour, backing the family's belief in his innocence.
