Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Secretariat is experiencing an administrative deadlock. With the e-filing system malfunctioning since the past two days, the file transfer has come to a complete standstill. Not even a single order can be issued by the departments. The fact that the National Informatics Centre (NIC) has not been able to resolve this problem, is proving to be a setback.
It was expected that the issues would be resolved by Wednesday. However, things reached a point that the file transfer came to a complete standstill. The e-filing system was restructured recently. Since then, the officials had been raising complaints that the file removal process had become slow.
The e-office has been non-operative since Tuesday morning. Officials are not even able to open e-files. The NIC, which implements and supervises e-filing, has been informed of the issue. However, the NIC has not been able to identify the source of the issue even after two days. Reports indicate that the IT secretary exchanged angry words with the NIC officials due to this.
The problem faced by the officers is that since the shift to a complete e-filing system, they are not able to carry out subsequent filings on paper. Further procedure is also hampered due to the inability to access details of the previous files. Officials said that NIC officials should come from New Delhi to solve the problem.
