'Full of Fun' dummy currency notes baffle Kasaragod shopkeepers, many face financial loss

Kumbla: Shopkeepers in parts of Kerala's Kasaragod district are falling victim to dummy Indian currency note-related fraud. Several local traders have reported receiving dummy notes, leading to financial losses. Reports indicate that these dummy notes are spreading in and around the Kumbla area.

Over the past week, numerous shopkeepers in Kalathur and Bambrana have fallen victim to this fraud. The dummy notes, primarily in denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 200, closely resemble real currency.

The size and design of these notes make them almost indistinguishable from real currency. They even feature an image of Mahatma Gandhi. Interestingly, the dummy notes bear the inscription "Full of Fun" in place of "Reserve Bank of India".

The culprits have been targeting busy times, handing over these dummy notes to shopkeepers, who are often too preoccupied to notice the difference immediately.

It is learnt that these dummy notes are given free with toffees and candies to attract kids.
