Kozhikode: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 6.26 kg of gold worth Rs 3.5 crore from six passengers. The attempt was to smuggle gold in a mixture form. The passengers arrived by Indigo flight from Jeddah.

Officials concluded that all the six arrested were members of the same group. The investigation into this is ongoing. They tried to smuggle gold by hiding it in their body and electronic devices.

The DRI had received a tip-off during the investigation into the gold smuggling. Based on this, crores worth of gold were seized during the inspection.
