
Kozhikode: CPM mouthpiece ‘Deshabhimani’ criticized Governor Arif Mohammad Khan for his remarks made against the state government. In the article titled ‘Governor’s political games’, the Governor was blamed for giving political statements without understanding the stature of his position.
It also said that the resolution against CAA was made in accordance with the law and that it is not compulsory for the government to inform the Governor regarding this. The Governor cannot interfere in the day to day activities of the state, it said.
There is also criticism against Arif Mohammad Khan for not signing the ordinance on ward division in local self-governing bodies. Governor has to function beyond his personal interests and as per the constitution, the editorial said.
