Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan directed to convene a meeting of departmental secretaries once every two months to evaluate the speed of file movement in each government department.

The CM advised the departmental secretaries in a meeting held on Tuesday to discourage the unnecessary transfer of files between departments. In several cases, the files were forwarded to the finance department seeking trivial explanations causing delay in the file movement, observed the CM. He told the departmental secretaries to avoid this.

The departmental secretaries are also directed to submit guidelines in connection with administrative affairs, including file movement.

Chief secretary VP Joy also attended the meeting with CM.
