Malappuram: Police arrested the car driver who rammed a scooter that killed a man and left his wife severely injured on Monday. The arrested has been identified as Basheer, a native of Karakkad in Palakkad’s Pattambi.
He has been booked under charges for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and riding a vehicle in a dangerous manner.

Sources claim that the driver had dozed off and that resulted in the accident. However, police maintained that probe is ongoing and it cannot be confirmed.
The incident happened on Saturday around 4:30 PM. The CCTV visuals of the accident sent shock waves across Kerala.
A Toyota Innova rammed a scooter and Abdul Khadar(48), who was riding the scooter, died on the spot. His wife Rukhiya (40) sustained serious injuries after being flung away due to the impact of the collision. She is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kottakkal.
