Malappuram: An unidentified woman’s body was found inside a water tank at a residence in Athipatta, Valanchery on Sunday.

The house, currently unoccupied, belongs to a family living abroad. A security guard had been assigned to oversee the property.

The woman’s body was found around 11 am in the tank where turtles are kept. A worker, who arrived on Sunday morning to clean the the tank and feed the turtles made the discovery. 

According to reports, the tank had last been cleaned three days ago. When the worker returned on Sunday morning, he noticed the body and immediately alerted the police.

The woman was found wearing gold ornaments. The police have launched an investigation.
