Kollam: Former SFI state president K Anusree criticised the CPM for its lack of sincerity in adopting a pro-women stance. She voiced her concerns while participating in the general discussion on the second day of the CPM state conference.

Anusree alleged that the party lacked genuineness in its pro-women position. While the CPM readily adopts a campaign-based approach against superstitions and outdated practices, the same approach is absent in matters related to women, she said.

The conference in Kollam is taking place at a time when MLA M Mukesh, representing the host district, faces a charge-sheet in a sexual harassment case. Mukesh’s absence from the conference had sparked discussions, and it is in this backdrop that Anusree’s criticism has emerged.
