Munnar: CPM has expressed their displeasure over the appointment of advocate Harish Vasudevan as amicus curiae to examine alleged encroachments and illegal constructions in Munnar and other areas in the Idukki district.
CPM Idukki district secretary CV Varghese remarked that Harish Vasudevan is a "fake environmentalist" who cannot be trusted.

On Tuesday, a Division Bench of the Kerala High Court restricted the construction of buildings above three storeys in Munnar for two weeks. The petition was filed by 'One Earth One Life', seeking court intervention in the matter.
By alleging an international conspiracy, Varghese said 'One Earth One Life' is a fake organisation.
"Harish cannot be trusted. He is a fake environmentalist. He campaigned for afforesting the entire Idukki district when the Gadgil and Kasturirangan reports were released," Varghese said.
The High Court chief justice had formed a bench to hear the issues specific to Munnar. The bench, composed of Justices Mohammed Mushtaq and Sophy Thomas, issued the interim order on Tuesday.
