Thiruvananthapuram: Despite ongoing allegations, CPM MLA and actor M Mukesh remains with the party, as no formal complaints have been filed against him. The CPM argued that since no legal case has been registered, Mukesh should not be required to resign, and points out that similar allegations have not led to resignations of UDF MLAs.
The CPM state secretariat had discussed the Hema committee report and decided that any further action would depend on the High Court's stance. A series of new revelations and controversies followed later on. Director Ranjith resigned from his position as chairman of the film academy, and now Mukesh is also facing serious allegations.

Actress Minu Muneer has accused Mukesh of using inappropriate language and pressuring her to cooperate. Casting director Tess Joseph had accused Mukesh during the ‘MeToo’ movement in 2018. She alleged that Mukesh repeatedly disturbed her with phone calls and moved her to his adjacent hotel room when she resisted.
However, it has been reported that Mukesh might be removed from the film policy-making committee as a result of these ongoing issues. Opposition groups are intensifying their calls for Mukesh’s resignation, with organisations like Mahila Morcha and Mahila Congress staging a march to his residence on Monday.
