Kochi: Director Vinayan has commented that Ranjith’s resignation was inevitable. According to him, when serious allegations are made against someone in key position, it is best for them to step down temporarily and allow for a proper investigation. He also mentioned that Ranjith’s efforts to be in the position was not appropriate.

“He received full support from the Minister of Culture. Regardless, it is good that he has resigned now. In my opinion, leaders in high positions should take such actions. This situation is also seen by many as a serious women's issue. Previously, I had filed a complaint about his actions, which I believe are even more serious than the current issue,” said Vinayan

“Two jury members had disclosed that Ranjith requested one of my films to be excluded from a highly impartial awards ceremony when he was Chairman of the Film Academy. Complaints about this were submitted to the Chief Minister and the Minister of Culture. The Minister of Culture stated that Ranjith is a respected figure, but he has breached the integrity expected of an Academy Chairman. There is nothing more to accuse him of at this point. He should step aside, resolve the issues, and return,”added Vinayan.
