Thiruvananthapuram: The special meeting of CPM state committee members held at AKG Centre on Thursday morning has decided to appoint Varkala MLA V Joy as TVM district secretary. The meeting was attended by CM Pinarayi Vijayan and CPM state secretary MV Govindan among others. The decision comes as the present secretary Anavoor Nagappan became a state secretariat member.

Reports hint that Joy’s name was suggested by the state leadership itself. District committee will convene a meeting today itself to approve the decision.

It may be specifically noted that apparent organisational level issues, mayor’s letter controversy had put thedistrict committee in bad light.
