Cherthala: The CPM Alappuzha district committee has come up with a suggestion to encourage spiritual orators who could be used for the propagation of renaissance values in society. This suggestion has emerged in the wake of the party's evaluation that most of the spiritual speakers active in the field of spiritual discourse tend to lean towards the Sangh Parivar path.

The party is of the view that these spiritual orators could influence devotees and lead them to the path of Sangh Parivar politics. To counter this, the party has decided to encourage spiritual orators who can propagate renaissance values through their speeches. This suggestion has been included in the guidelines issued to the lower rungs of the party following the humiliating defeat suffered in the recently held Lok Sabha elections.

Workers at the grassroots level have been asked to provide more stages for such orators and to ensure their safety and support. The committee has also urged leaders to be vigilant regarding the increasing presence of RSS workers in temple committees. This trend must be curtailed, and the lower rungs of the party are to provide details about such temples to the area committees so that the party can design strategies to take charge of temple committees.

The party aims to establish temple committees that uphold the values of secularism to prevent communalism from spreading in society through temples. Area committees have been asked to be watchful of the temple committees controlled by pro-CPM individuals and to monitor their operations closely. The concerned area committees should be able to intervene at regular intervals to provide suggestions.

During the Lok Sabha elections, the CPM suffered significantly in the district as votes leaked to the BJP even from party strongholds. The state committee prepared a report in connection with this and handed it over to the district committee to initiate the necessary steps to resolve the crisis. Based on this report, the district committee has made recommendations to win back the trust of devotees.

During the first phase of the evaluation of the defeat in the district, the CPM launched a strong attack against the SNDP leadership. However, in the report sent to the lower rungs, the party has softened its stance towards the SNDP and has suggested that the resistance should be directed against the RSS rather than against the SNDP.
