Thalassery: A district court has postponed the verdict in the brutal murder of Vishnu Priya, a 23-year-old girl, in Panoor, to Friday (May 10). The sentencing will be announced by the Thalassery Additional District Court (One).

Vishnu Priya was murdered at her residence on October 22, 2022. Her former friend and a Manantheri native A. Shyamjith (27), was named accused in the case. 

During the trial, the prosecution claimed that the murder was premeditated and planned. They also produced CCTV footage showing the accused buying the murder weapon, a hammer, from a shop in Kootuparambu two days prior to the incident. Vishnu Priya's body showed a total of 29 wounds.

Public Prosecutor K. Ajith Kumar also produced circumstantial and scientific evidence before the court. He also produced records of phone conversations between the accused and Vishnu Priya.
