Kochi: Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has been summoned by the Kakkanad Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in a case of assaulting his former manager. The court has directed him to appear on October 27.

The case was registered by Kakkanad Infopark Police, who have already submitted a chargesheet. The summons follows the submission of this document. The charges filed against Unni Mukundan are bailable, and he is expected to apply for bail upon appearing in court, which is a routine legal procedure.

Complainant’s allegations

The complaint was filed by Vipin Kumar, a resident of Changanassery, Kottayam, who alleged that he was assaulted by Unni Mukundan. The First Information Report (FIR) also mentioned slapping on the face and threats.

The chargesheet, however, said that there was no evidence to prove that Unni Mukundan assaulted Vipin Kumar.

The new development comes shortly after Silver Cast Creations announced a new biopic titled 'Maa Vande', timed to coincide with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. Unni Mukundan is set to portray Modi in the pan-India project, which will release in multiple languages, including English.
