Inspection by AICC found that only the activities in Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, and Ernakulam districts were up to the mark

Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress leadership aims to complete the party reorganisation by the end of the month, as it is essential to begin preparations for the upcoming local body elections. Appointments for KPCC Vice Presidents and General Secretaries will be made soon, and it has also been decided to change the district presidents.
An inspection conducted by the AICC found that only the activities in Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, and Ernakulam districts were up to the mark. Based on this, the AICC report has recommended that a new organisational structure be established in all districts ahead of the elections.
The Congress has prepared a roadmap for the election preparations, and special office-bearers will be appointed to implement it. The leadership is considering assigning this responsibility to members of the party’s youth wing. Activities at the local level in constituencies considered winnable in the legislative assembly are also being given separate attention.
The first phase of the action plan includes intervention on social media, identifying and addressing local issues, standing with the people, and highlighting the failures of the government. The plan has been prepared under the leadership of Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan, with input from election experts.
There is also an understanding to assign a new role to M.M. Hassan, who lost his position following the change in KPCC leadership. Hassan was unexpectedly removed from the post of UDF convener but accepted the national leadership’s decision without objection. As a result, the party has decided to include him in the leadership structure by assigning him a suitable position, which will be finalised once the KPCC President and co-office bearers formally assume their roles.
