Malappuram: The Kerala Consumer Commission has ordered a compensation of Rs 10,000 for individuals who purchased tickets for the Santosh Trophy final match but were denied entry to the stadium.
The incident occurred during the 2022 edition of the Santosh Trophy held at the Payyanad Stadium. Several ticket holders were denied entry as the stadium reached full capacity before the match.
The complaint was filed by K P Muhammad Iqbal from Kavanur, Manosh Babu from Kollam, and Naseem Karippakasseri against the All India Football Federation and the Malappuram District Sports Council.
Advocates P. Sadiqali Areekode and N H Fawas Farhan appeared for the complainants. The verdict was delivered by a bench chaired by K Mohandas.
