Thiruvananthapuram: The Lok Ayukta (larger bench) dismissed the interim application of the complainant in the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) misuse case. The Upa Lok Ayukta did not mince its words while criticising advocate P Subair Kunju who had appeared for petitioner RS Sasikumar. Subair’s arguments were dubbed as the worst the bench have ever heard; his disrespectful demeanour was considered an insult to the court. Meanwhile, the bench lauded TA Shaji, the Director General of Prosecution for his efforts in the case.
Through the interim application, RS Sasikumar wanted the Lok Ayukta bench to review its stand to re-evaluate the validity of the complaint concerning the case. Lok Ayukta decided to re-evaluate the validity as the verdict issued by the bench led by former Lok Ayukta did not hold binding authority over the full bench.
