Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan left for the US on Sunday morning to continue his treatment. He boarded a flight to Dubai from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport early in the morning. Hid wife Kamala and personal assistant VM Suneesh are assisting the CM in the journey. He will take a flight to the US later today from Dubai.

Pinarayi is undergoing further treatment at the famous Mayo Clinic in the US.

Though he will return only by the second week of May, he has not handed over charge to anyone. He will attend the cabinet meeting on Wednesdays online.

Pinarayi had undergone two weeks of treatment in January this year. Unlike his trips during the first term, he did not handover the charge to anyone else. He headed the meeting online from the US.

The CM is expected to return on May 10 or 11.
