Kochi: The High Court has rejected the demand for a vigilance investigation in the Exalogic CMRL transaction case. The High Court pronounced the verdict on a petition filed by Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA and Kalamassery native Girish Babu against the Vigilance Court's rejection of a complaint related to the payment of remuneration to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena Vijayan for services without CMRL.

The complaint demanded an investigation against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Veena Vijayan based on the Income Tax Settlement Board's finding that they had paid remuneration. The demand in both the petitions was that the Vigilance Court's order rejecting the demand for investigation be quashed and the Vigilance Court be directed to take a fresh decision.

The Income Tax Settlement Board found that Veena and her company Exalogic paid Rs 1 crore 72 lakh for software services that did not exist. The main allegation was that Veena used her position as the Chief Minister's daughter to receive monthly payments from CMRL.
