Kannur: The Parasuram Express was overwhelmed by a massive crowd on Saturday evening, as many candidates who had appeared for the LDC exam boarded the train. Reports indicate that numerous candidates from Kannur district had their examination centres in Kozhikode.
The usual weekend influx of people returning to their hometowns from workplaces aggravated the situation. In their search for space, passengers even crowded into reservation compartments. The rush was so severe that one person reportedly fainted inside the train due to the congestion.
Relief came only after the train had passed Vadakara. Additionally, reports suggest that several general ticket holders also encroached upon reservation compartments in the Netravati Express.
