Thiruvananthapuram: CCTV footage from theatres owned by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) is being circulated on pornographic websites and Telegram accounts. The visuals show couples who came to watch movies in the theatres, and these clips are being widely shared on such platforms. Once the issue came to light, the Cyber Cell initiated an investigation based on KSFDC’s complaint.

The leaked CCTV footage includes visuals from the Kairali, Nila and Sree theatres in Thiruvananthapuram. In addition to porn sites, these videos are being distributed through Telegram channels as well. The videos are available for purchase on these sites. The leaked footage reportedly dates back to 2023, though it is learnt that they only started appearing on such platforms a few months ago.

In the circulated footage, details such as the theatre name, screen number, date, and time are clearly visible. Various Telegram groups are selling these visuals for money. Meanwhile, the Film Development Corporation has also begun its own inquiry using technical experts.
