Kochi: The CBI is all set to investigate the asset accumulation of K M Abraham over a period of 12 years. The probe will cover information relating to the acquisition of an apartment at Thycaud in Thiruvananthapuram, an apartment in Mumbai, and a shopping complex in Kollam. A copy of the FIR has surfaced.

The High Court had ordered a CBI investigation against Abraham following a petition filed by public activist Jomon Puthenpurackal. Subsequently, the CBI registered an FIR in the case. The investigation will primarily focus on the assets acquired between 2003 and 2015. In his petition, Jomon Puthenpurackal alleged that K M Abraham had unlawfully amassed wealth during this period while serving as a public servant.

Earlier, Jomon had approached the Special Vigilance Court in Thiruvananthapuram seeking an investigation into the matter. Acting on the court’s direction, the Vigilance SP had conducted an inquiry, but the Vigilance report concluded that there was no evidence of illegal asset accumulation. Following this, Jomon approached the High Court, which then ordered a CBI investigation.
