
Malur (Kannur) : A rubber tapper from Puralimala at Malur in Kannur won the Christmas-New Year bumper lottery of the state worth Rs 12 crore. The lucky winner is Rajan, a tribal from the Kurichiya family at Puralimala.
The bumper prize for the lottery ticket ST 269609, bought from Koothuparambu Payan Lottery Agency, was purchased in January. The lucky ticket was handed over to the Tholambra Service Co-operative Bank by Rajan, his wife and children and the bank officials exchanged the ticket to the Kannur district bank.
The winner came to know about his luck through Mathrubhumi when he bought the paper from a local shop at Tholambra to check his luck. Rajan said that though he is a not a regular lottery buyer whenever he has money, he buys bumper ticket. Rajan has three children Athira, Rigil and Akshara.
