Guruvayur: After getting married in front of Lord Krishna, the bride gave a wedding gift to a financially struggling young woman — 5 sovereigns (approximately 40 grams) of gold and ₹4.5 lakh in cash.

The wedding was that of Dr Aishwarya, daughter of Manikuttan and Shari from Vypin, Ernakulam, held on Wednesday at Guruvayur. The groom is Shambhu, a native of Alappuzha.

Soon after the wedding ceremony, the bride helped a young woman residing at FACT quarters in Ernakulam. Her wedding is scheduled for August 17. Aishwarya came to know about her situation through a Facebook post by the Daya Charitable Trust in Palakkad, which shared the young girl's struggles in arranging her marriage.

Responding to the post, Aishwarya commented that her own wedding was on April 23 at Guruvayur and said she is interested in helping her. In the presence of officials from Daya Trust, Aishwarya’s mother Shari handed over a cheque of ₹4.5 lakh to purchase 5 sovereigns of gold, clothes, and other essentials.
