Thiruvananthapuram: Police commissioner CH Nagaraju said that an investigation has been initiated into the allegation of bribery related to the office of the Kerala health minister. The case was registered on the complaint of Akhil Mathew, a personal staff member of minister Veena George.
Haridasan, a Malappuram resident, has alleged that he paid a bribe for the appointment of his son's wife as Malappuram Medical Officer under the Ayush Mission.
"Haridasan has not filed a complaint and the case will be clarified only after receiving Haridasan's statement," Nagaraju said.
The cantonment police have reached Malappuram to take Haridasan's statement. A detailed investigation will be conducted after taking Haridasan's statement.
"As there are no names of the accused in the complaint, there is no name of the accused in the FIR either. A case was registered on the complaint of Akhil Mathew for impersonation and betrayal of trust. The incident will be thoroughly investigated and the truth will be found," Nagaraju said.
Haridasan alleged that he paid Akhil Mathew Rs 1 lakh and middleman Akhil Sajeev Rs 75,000 for the job.
