Brahmapuram fire: EKM collector declares school holiday for Classes 1 to 7; Details inside

Kochi: Ernakulam district collector Dr Renu Raj on Sunday informed that it will be a holiday for students in Classes 1 to 7 in schools on Monday in the regions affected by the Brahmapuram fire.

The kindergartens, day care centres and schools in the following local bodies will have a holiday (for Classes 1 to 7-Govt/Aided/Unaided/CBSE/ICSE):

  • Vadavucode-Puthencruz panchayat
  • Kunnathunad panchayat
  • Kizhakkambalam panchayat
  • Thrikkakara municipality
  • Tripunithura municipality
  • Maradu municipality
  • Kochi municipal corporation
Holiday will not be applicable for public examinations scheduled.

The decision comes in wake of the reports corroborating the presence of smoke in those regions and as a precautionary move to avert health-related issues.
