Kochi: In a shocking incident, several government vehicles were misused to undertake shuttle service during the marriage function of an IAS officer in Kochi.

The vehicles owned by Kerala police and Ernakulam district administration were used during the marriage function of India Reserve Battalion commandant Padam Singh IPS.

The incident came to light at a time when the state government has been struggling financially to make ends meet. For the past two days, around 10 government vehicles carried passengers from Nedumbassery.

The vehicles conducted the service hiding the official number plate. Several cops were also used as valets to carry bags and other pieces of luggage brought by the guest. From morning to night, the cops were stationed in the airport to accompany passengers to various five-star hotels in Kochi.

The majority of these luxury vehicles were handed over for the marriage function by many IPS and top government officials.
