
Munnar: A black panther was sighted at Sevenmallay in Munnar by a duo of German tourists and their guide while trekking. Visuals of the black panther were also captured and shared online.
The black panther was spotted amidst the grass during the morning hours. On realizing human presence, the feline disappeared into the grasslands. Sightings of black panthers are uncommon in Kerala.
Forest Department speculates that the black panther spotted at Sevenmallay could be the same as the one caught on the cameras installed at Rajamala, considering the minimal distance between the two locations.
The sighting of the black panther at Sevenmallay has sparked concern among the local population.
