Kochi: Youth Congress workers waved black flags at the motorcade of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Perumbavoor in Ernakulam on Sunday.  Vijayan was visiting the region as part of the government’s outreach programme Nava Kerala Sadas. 

The black flag protest triggered a clash between DYFI and Youth Congress workers. Perumbavoor MLA Eldhose Kunnappilly, who was on a visit to hospitalised Congress mandalam president Noel Jose, too was allegedly attacked. According to reports 20 DYFI workers who arrived on motorcycles attacked the Congress MLA.  Eldhose has been entered into a hospital.

Meanwhile, the police intervened and dispersed the party workers.

Noel Jose had been hospitalised after the alleged attack of DYFI activists. Similarly, it is alleged that Congress mandalam president of  Nellikuzhi Ali was attacked by  DYFI workers.
