Thiruvananthapuram: The BJP will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the UDF ministry led by VD Satheesan, to be held on Monday at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The announcement was made by BJP state president and MLA-elect Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that VD Satheesan had personally invited him to attend the ceremony. BJP MLAs and party workers will also participate. He also conveyed his wishes to Chief Minister-designate VD Satheesan. This is the first time Rajeev Chandrasekhar has reacted after Satheesan was chosen as Chief Minister.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are among the leaders expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Chief Ministers of neighbouring states and several prominent personalities, including the film industry, have also been invited.

Public entry to the venue will be regulated through passes. After the swearing-in ceremony, the ministers will proceed to Lok Bhavan for the Governor’s reception. This will be followed by the first Cabinet meeting, which will recommend to the Governor the convening of the Assembly session.
