Thiruvananthapuram: An Air India flight with 140 passengers on board from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi experienced an emergency when a crane flew into its engine. The incident occurred shortly after takeoff, at around 8.20 pm on Saturday.
The pilot detected the bird strike to the left engine during the flight and requested permission from Air Traffic Control (ATC) to return to the airport. The ATC informed the airline and airport authorities of the situation.
Following the emergency landing, airport fire and rescue services, along with CISF commandos, were deployed. The pilot safely landed the aircraft at around 9:30 pm, and all passengers safely disembarked.
