Kollam, Kerala: A telephone pole was found placed across a railway track in Kundara region here on Saturday, raising concerns about a possible attempt to derail a train. The Punalur Railway Police have started an investigation.
The obstruction was first spotted around 1:30 am on and a local resident informed the authorities. The Ezhukone police arrived quickly and removed the post. However, later, railway police found another pole on the track, making the situation more suspicious.
The incident happened when several trains, including the Palaruvi Express, were scheduled to pass. However, officials confirmed that the pole was cleared before any train arrived, preventing an accident.

The police have collected CCTV footage from a nearby area to help with their investigation.
