Ernakulam: Police have initiated a probe over attempt to capture visuals from the bathroom of ladies hostel of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies in Madavana here. The incident occurred on Friday at 7:30 pm.

The incident came to light when a hostel inmate entered the bathroom on the first floor. She saw a mobile phone placed near the ventilation and the camera was operational. When she cried out aloud the person escaped with the phone. The other inmates who came to the place after hearing the cries also claimed they saw a person fleeing. 

Hostel authorities informed police and they have begun a probe. Meanwhile, some hostel inmates claimed that the person left the hostel premises only after the police reached the place. 

KUFOS authorities convened an emergency meeting on Saturday in the wake of rampant anti-social activities in the region.
